Rebuilding Lives.
Restoring Hope.
At The Center, we believe no one should be defined by their worst mistake. We’re here to walk alongside individuals returning from incarceration—offering support, dignity, and a second chance.

Who We Are
The Center is a nonprofit organization based in San Antonio, Texas, serving Bexar County and the surrounding community. We are dedicated to supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration back into society by providing holistic services that address their mental, emotional, and practical needs.
Founded on the belief that transformation is possible for everyone, The Center focuses on reducing recidivism and promoting long-term stability through connection, education, and empowerment. Every service we offer—from counseling to job training—is rooted in respect and designed to meet people where they are.
Why We Exist
For many who leave the prison system, freedom comes with new challenges—finding a job, securing housing, and reconnecting with family and society. Without the right support, the path forward can be overwhelming. That’s where we step in.
We educate the public about the realities of incarceration and its long-term impact, advocate for restorative justice, and offer a hand up to those ready for change. By walking with our clients through their journey, we help them build confidence, discover purpose, and take steps toward lasting independence.

What Guides Us
- Dignity: We see the person first—not the past.
- Empowerment: We focus on building strengths, not just fixing problems.
- Community: We believe healing happens in connection, not isolation.
- Faith & Compassion: We meet people with love and acceptance, wherever they are on their journey.

Our Impact
Over the years, we’ve supported hundreds of individuals reentering the community. From helping someone write their first resume to connecting them with a mentor who truly understands their struggles, our work is built on real relationships and real transformation.
Each story we encounter is unique—but what remains the same is our unwavering belief in second chances.
